How Meditation May Change the Brain
this is my news. it's about meditation. my response is going to be long, but guys, it's really good to read. I am not sure though. sometimes i may write something which has nothing to do with article but please dont blame me. i'm going to write very short summary and then write my response.
I thought meditation was far from science. But finally a research showed that it makes the part of the brain active. The part is connected to learning and memory. Besides, meditation also makes another part of brain less active. The part is connected to anxiety and stress. It is like killing two birds with one stone. I should have realized the fact much earlier. Anyway, I have to practice this as soon as possible. According to the definition of Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, the word “meditate” is “to think deeply, usually in silence, especially for religious reasons or in order to make your mind calm.” Think deeply in silence. It seemed easy so I tried to practice it. However, I found out two problems. The one is that I have no idea what to think about? I’m not particular about anything. I found it difficult to think about deeply. From now on, I’ll try to think about things very deeply so that I can understand not only their obvious meanings but also their hidden profound meanings. The other problem is that I can’t stand longer in the state of silence. I’ve finally realized I am too antsy. To stay in silence is much harder than to keep on moving. I tried to stop every part of my body, but the more time went, the more irritated I felt. To change my brain better, I have to get used to it. This topic that I am going to talk about has less to do with the article but I am getting enchanted with the stillness. I observed people in the class, I found out some of them never moved while listening to the lecture. I was surprised at all. How could they be immobile? It’s a big discovery. If they can remain still in the whole class, they must be able to put up with any kind of stress. This is my mere guess, but if it is so, I have to make it a rule to meditate. Anyway, now I have two things to be able to do. The one is to think about something deeply. The other is to remain still. It is going to be tough.
guys, u should try meditation. See you.
Takuya, this is a very interesting comment. You are absolutely right. Meditating is very difficult to do, unless we know the correct way to do it. The article that you chose is also interesting. Eventhough it does not mention deeply the huge benefits of mediation on human healing, like the writer said, it is just enough to encourage us to try and think about meditation.I think by doing meditation, we can be the best health creator and provider for ourselves. This decisive role is even more important than the health care system. Health is nothing but pleasure, joy and meaning. According to the article, through bring us mindfulness, meditation can change our brain in an positive way, making us happier and more compassionate and helping us reduce anxiety. I think that's just enough to be healthy. I totally agree that if we can, we should try to meditate, because it focuses on the least toxic and the least costly method to help us facilitate health. I think our pleasure, joy and meaning of life can determine our health status. Good luck with your meditation!
返信削除Isn't it amazing that meditation could change our brain? I knew it!!!I believe that everything depends on my mind. This article gave me stronger belief in this. No matter what difficulty comes to me, if I try to appreciate it, it turns nothing. That's how I handle a lot of stress. Takuya, meditation is not that difficult. You can start with praying first. I pray for tomorrow before I go to bed and I try to thank god whatever happens to me. If I do that, I can reduce stress. If you don't have religion, just make your own god and try to think like me. I'm sure that it will help you a lot. Science proved it ,right?
